Research Engineer Sensor Systems (f/m/div.)

Nano-and micro-electromechanical systems (NEMS & MEMS) are used in many everyday and emerging applications such as inertial sensors in cell phones, virtual reality devices and autonomous vehicles. As the requirements for sensor performance, robustness, and cost steadily improve, the interactions between individual components within connected embedded systems become increasingly complex. We follow a holistic development approach considering influences on sensor, device and application level.
As a research engineer you will

  • develop intelligent micro sensors based on a holistic approach to identify the most critical components and their interplay
  • derive device requirements and novel solutions from a system architecture and use-case perspective
  • prove the functionality with demonstrators and key performance indicators
  • publish the results in patent applications and scout for new applications and use-cases for MEMS sensor systems
  • be an active part of an international research team, connect with the academic community and collaborate with developers in our business units
  • Education: excellent PhD in electrical engineering or physics
  • Personality: self-motivated, open-minded team player
  • Working practice: analytical, structured, result-oriented, actively shaping and driving topics within organizations
  • Experience and Knowledge: experience with micro sensors applied in embedded systems, techniques of system engineering, software for development and operation of IoT applications, basic knowledge of signal processing and machine learning; You are good in identifying relevant problems, like to make decisions, and have strong communication skills
