As an R&D Engineer, Campus, you will be responsible for contributing to design and development of application software product. These software are used for controlling, programming, coordinating robots in specific application contexts (eg. Robotics machining, picking& package, robot predictive maintenance) for Robotics & Discrete Automation Business Area in Shanghai, China. Reporting to the R&D Project Manager, you will write well structured, testable, efficient and maintainable code.

Your responsibilities
  • Being responsible for developing software modules for a modular application software
  • Analyzing and enhancing efficiency, stability and scalability of modular software
  • Improving ease of use for ABB robots and robotics vision applications
  • Following ABB Agile/SAFe software development process, deliver design and test documents
  • Involving in HW driver development and support system integration test
  • Being responsible for strain wave gear wave generator bearing dynamics, lubrication, life related calculation
  • Being responsible for strain wave gear wave generator bearing related failure root cause analysis (RCA)
  • Being responsible for the maintenance and improvement of related data analysis program and software
Your background
  • Experience of Industrial software development is a plus
  • Familiar with at least one programming language (eg. C++, C#, JS)
  • Knowledge of Agile development process is a plus
  • A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mechanical, Automation and or equivalent or equivalent degree with necessary expertise in the mentioned areas
  • Ability of problem solving, result orientation, time management and teamwork skills
  • Must have positive attitude to work, engagement in the tasks and a strong result-orientation
  • Ability of professional communication in English, CET6 passed
