How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

* Use the prioritisation system to triage referrals and assess need, ensuring urgent cases are responded to promptly.
* Carry out holistic, person-centred assessments for individuals requiring more in-depth support.

* Develop personalised support plans addressing immediate needs and longer-term resilience.
* Provide accurate information, advice and practical support to help people manage their situation.
* Refer to appropriate services, including advice, health, housing and specialist support.
* Research grant funds and other sources of financial assistance and support people with applications where appropriate.
Partnership and community work
* Build and maintain strong relationships with local partners, services and community groups.
* Act as a connector between individuals and the services, groups and opportunities available to them.
* Identify unmet need and gaps in local provision and proactively plan and deliver engagement activities and events to raise awareness of the programme.
* Reach people who may be unaware of their eligibility and build relationships with harder-to-reach and marginalised communities to increase access to support.
* Support the development and promotion of community-based solutions that can reduce reliance on statutory services.
* Map local organisations, groups and networks to strengthen knowledge of available support.
Service delivery and records
* Offer flexible appointments in person, online or by telephone according to individual need.
* Maintain accurate and timely records.
* Use the Frontline system for referrals, the organisation’s Airtable CRM, and the lone-working safety system.
* Work flexibly from home and in communities across the relevant geographical area.
