Are you a passionate teacher who believes relationships, emotional safety and consistency are key to helping young people succeed?
We are recruiting for a Nurture Teacher to join a specialist SEN school supporting children and young people aged 11-16 with Autism, SEMH needs, emotional regulation difficulties and sensory processing needs.
This is an opportunity to join a therapeutic, trauma-informed environment where small class sizes, high levels of support and multidisciplinary working allow staff to genuinely make a difference.
The Role
You will deliver engaging and differentiated lessons while supporting pupils with:
* Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
* SEMH needs
* emotional regulation difficulties
* sensory processing needs
* challenging behaviours
* disrupted educational journeys
You will work closely with therapists, support staff and senior leaders to create a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment where pupils can thrive both academically and emotionally.
Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality teaching tailored to individual needs
* Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
* Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour
* Differentiate learning to support SEND pupils
* Contribute to EHCP reviews and target setting
* Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
* Use restorative and trauma-informed approaches
* Maintain safeguarding and wellbeing standards
Essential Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Experience working with SEND, ASC or SEMH pupils
* Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
* Understanding of trauma-informed and nurturing approaches
* Passion for supporting vulnerable young people
Desirable
* SEN qualifications or additional SEND training
* Experience in specialist schools, PRUs or alternative provision
* Knowledge of autism and sensory needs
* Therapeutic or nurture-based teaching experience
