How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Project Manager - Water & Wastewater Infrastructure
Are you an experienced Site Manager looking to take the next step into Project Management, or an established Project Manager looking for a new challenge within the utilities sector?
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager to join a successful specialist delivery team, overseeing the delivery of multiple civil engineering projects across water and wastewater infrastructure sites.
This is a hands-on role where you will take ownership of projects from initial planning through to completion, managing delivery teams, coordinating subcontractors and ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
Working closely with clients, designers and operational teams, you will play a key role in shaping project delivery, managing risks and driving successful outcomes across a portfolio of important infrastructure projects.

The Role
As Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of multiple civil engineering projects within the water and wastewater sector.
You will manage projects throughout the full lifecycle, from developing initial scopes of work and producing site documentation through to construction delivery, completion and handover.
Working within a collaborative delivery team, you will oversee site operations, coordinate multidisciplinary teams and ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.
This role would suit an experienced Site Manager looking to progress into Project Management, or an existing Project Manager with a background in utilities, civil engineering or infrastructure delivery.

Key Responsibilities
·Take ownership of multiple civil engineering projects from inception through to completion.
·Lead the safe and efficient delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure works.
·Develop project scopes, delivery plans and site documentation.
·Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, designers and operational stakeholders.
·Manage programme delivery, ensuring projects remain on track and within agreed timescales.
·Maintain a strong focus on health, safety, quality and environmental standards.
·Promote a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with CDM regulations.
·Manage commercial performance, including labour, plant, materials and subcontractor costs.
·Identify project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
·Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and external stakeholders.
·Monitor project progress and provide regular reporting updates.
·Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve delivery processes.

What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone with strong technical knowledge, confident leadership skills and a proactive approach to problem solving.
You will be comfortable managing multiple projects, working in a fast-paced environment and making key decisions to ensure successful project delivery.
Experience & Knowledge:
·Proven experience as a Site Manager, Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager within civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure.
·Experience delivering water or wastewater projects is highly desirable.
·Strong understanding of construction delivery processes and site management.
·Commercial awareness, with experience managing costs, resources, labour, plant and materials.
·Good knowledge of CDM regulations and construction health and safety requirements.
·Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
·Strong client-facing skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
Skills & Attributes:
·Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan and manage multiple workstreams.
·Confident leadership and team management ability.
·Ability to assess risks, resolve problems and make decisions in live construction environments.
·Comfortable working within highway, utilities or infrastructure environments.
·Strong communication skills with internal teams, clients and supply chain partners.
·Competent using project reporting systems and Excel-based cost trackers.

Qualifications
·Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar (desirable).
·Relevant project management qualification such as APM (desirable).
·SMSTS and CSCS.
·Full UK Driving Licence.
·Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) qualification (desirable).
·Professional membership with ICE, CIOB or APM (desirable).
·NRSWA Supervisor qualification (desirable).
·Appointed Person (A61) qualification (desirable).

The Opportunity
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing infrastructure delivery team where you will have genuine ownership, responsibility and the chance to develop your career within the water and utilities sector.
Whether you are an experienced Project Manager or a Site Manager ready to make the move into project delivery, this role offers the opportunity to work on essential infrastructure projects that support communities every day
