The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

The Role
We are looking for an experienced Security Systems Installation Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring and commissioning a range of electronic security systems for our customers, ensuring all installations are completed to a high professional standard.
The role will involve working predominantly across Hertfordshire and may include both domestic and commercial installations.
You will be expected to work independently, demonstrate excellent technical knowledge and provide a professional service to customers at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure and commission security systems including:

* Intruder alarms
* CCTV systems
* Access control
* Fire alarm systems
* Intercom and entry systems
* Associated security equipment and peripherals
Ensure all installations are completed to a high standard and in accordance with relevant industry requirements.
Carry out system testing, commissioning and handover to customers.
Identify and resolve technical issues encountered during installation.
Complete accurate installation records, service documentation and commissioning paperwork.
Maintain appropriate records of equipment, system configurations and customer requirements.
Provide customers with clear demonstrations and basic training on the operation of installed systems.
Liaise professionally with customers, colleagues, suppliers and other contractors.
Maintain company vehicles, tools and equipment to an appropriate standard.
Ensure all company health and safety procedures are followed.
Participate in the company's on-call standby rota when required.
Keep technical knowledge and manufacturer-specific training up to date.
Practical experience with CCTV, access control, intruder alarms and/or fire alarm systems.
Knowledge of major industry brands such as Pyronix, Honeywell, Texecom, Hikvision, Paxton, C-Tec, Advanced and Kentec.
A good understanding of networking principles, including IP addressing, PoE, switches and network diagnostics.
Strong technical problem-solving and fault-finding abilities.
The ability to read and understand system specifications and technical documentation.
A full UK driving licence.
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
The ability to work independently while also being a supportive member of a wider engineering team.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
The following would be advantageous:
City & Guilds, BTEC, NVQ or equivalent qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
Manufacturer-specific training and certification.
ECS or CSCS card.
Experience working within an NSI-accredited security company.
Experience working on commercial security installations.
Knowledge of relevant British Standards and industry requirements.
Experience with IP-based CCTV and networked security systems.
