The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
We are seeking a highly experienced Chief Avionic Systems Engineer to lead the technical direction, certification, and airworthiness of safety‑critical electronic and avionics systems. You will act as a senior engineering authority, a design signatory, and a key member of the Airworthiness Board.
Key Responsibilities
Act as Company Design Signatory for initial and continued airworthiness.
Lead certification activities and interface with the UK CAA.
Chair technical reviews, Change Control Boards and Problem Review Boards.
Oversee requirements, architecture and verification activities for avionics/electronic systems.
Ensure compliance with civil aviation standards and support AS9100 audits.
Guide engineering teams, mentor early‑career engineers, and support continuous improvement.
Essential Experience
Degree in engineering (electronics, avionics, systems or similar).
15+ years in aerospace systems/avionics engineering.
Strong knowledge of:
ED‑79B (ARP4754A)
ED‑12C (DO‑178C)
ED‑80 (DO‑254)
ED‑135 (ARP4761)
CS‑ETSO, CS‑23/25/27/29, AMC & GM
Experience in DO‑160G environmental/qualification testing.
Background in configuration/change control and fault investigation.
Demonstrated ability to work with certification authorities.
Desirable
Chartered Engineer (CEng).
Significant avionics systems certification leadership experience.
