Senior Credit Risk Technology Analyst

London/Hybrid

Contract to March 2027

My client is one of the largest financial institutions headquartered in Japan, with an established presence across all consumer and corporate banking businesses. Through its subsidiaries and affiliates, they offer a diverse range of financial services, including commercial banking, leasing, securities, credit card, consumer finance and other services.

They are seeking an experienced Senior Credit Risk Technology Analyst to join a strategic Credit Risk Technology function within a leading global banking organisation. This role sits at the intersection of Credit Risk, Data and Technology, acting as the key link between business stakeholders and development teams to deliver complex Credit Risk solutions and regulatory change initiatives.

This is a hands-on position requiring deep Credit Risk domain expertise combined with strong technical analysis, data interrogation and agile delivery experience. You will be responsible for translating business and regulatory requirements into detailed functional specifications, managing delivery through the software development lifecycle, and ensuring solutions meet both business and regulatory expectations.

The position is being offered on an initial contract until the end of March but with the potential to extend. You will be hybrid working being office based 3 days a week, 2 days working from home.

Key Responsibilities

Credit Risk Technology Analysis

Act as the primary interface between Credit Risk, Technology, Data, Treasury, Finance and Front Office stakeholders.
Gather, analyse and document business and regulatory requirements.
Translate requirements into detailed Functional Specification Documents (FSDs), business requirements and technical specifications.
Ensure accurate interpretation of Credit Risk policies, methodologies and regulatory requirements within technology solutions.
Support strategic Credit Risk platform enhancements and transformation initiatives.Agile Delivery & Jira Management

Own and manage Epics, Features and User Stories within Jira.
Work closely with developers and architects to ensure requirements are fully understood and delivered as intended.
Refine and prioritise backlogs in partnership with business stakeholders and programme leadership.
Support sprint planning, UAT, defect management and production releases.
Maintain full traceability between business requirements, technical design and delivered solutions.Credit Risk Domain Expertise

Work across key areas of the Credit Risk lifecycle including:

Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR)
Exposure and Limit Management
SA-CCR and Credit RWA calculations
Corporate and Wholesale Lending
IFRS 9 impairment
Basel III/IV and CRR/CRD regulatory initiativesData Analysis & Technology

Analyse data to support requirements gathering and solution validation.
Use SQL to interrogate and validate data across multiple systems.
Support data mapping, reconciliation and data quality initiatives.
Work alongside data engineering teams on strategic platform enhancements.Stakeholder Management

Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across Risk, Technology and Business functions.
Present requirements, progress updates and recommendations to senior management.
Facilitate workshops and requirement-gathering sessions.
Coordinate delivery across global teams and multiple workstreams.

Required Skills & Experience

Essential

Significant experience within a regulated banking or capital markets environment.
Significant experience across Credit Risk, Risk Technology, Technical Analysis or related delivery functions.
Strong understanding of Credit Risk frameworks and processes.
Extensive knowledge of:
Basel III / Basel IV
CRR / CRD
SA-CCR
IFRS 9
Credit RWA methodologies
Wholesale and Corporate Lending
Proven experience producing Functional Specification Documents (FSDs).
Strong experience creating and managing Epics, Features and User Stories within Jira.
Experience working closely with software development and architecture teams.
Strong SQL skills with the ability to analyse and validate complex data.
Track record of owning delivery from requirements through to implementation.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.Desirable

Databricks experience.
Experience with Moody's Risk Authority, Risk Foundation, AxiomSL and/or Wolters Kluwer.
Credit Risk transformation or regulatory change experience.
Exposure to cloud data platforms and Market Risk technology.
