The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
We're recruiting for a Section Engineer to join a major infrastructure project in Devonport. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role on a complex, high-profile scheme within a collaborative delivery environment.
The Role
You will take ownership of a section of works, ensuring construction is delivered safely, on programme, and to the highest quality standards. Working in a client-facing capacity, you'll coordinate site teams and subcontractors while supporting overall project performance.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee site activities, subcontractors, and daily coordination of works
Ensure compliance with health & safety, RAMS, and site procedures
Review technical drawings and documentation, raising RFIs/TQs/NCRs as required
Manage risks and support planning/programming of works
Engage with stakeholders and contribute to reporting and project delivery
About You
Minimum 2+ years' experience in a site-based engineering role
Strong understanding of construction methods and project environments
Confident communicator with the ability to manage stakeholders and teams
IT proficient (MS Office; planning/document systems)
Qualifications:
Degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
CSCS card (essential)
SMSTS/IOSH, BIM or planning software experience (desirable)
