The Company

As part of their continued growth in the façade and external envelope sector, they are looking to appoint a Design Manager to join the team and lead design coordination across complex, high-value projects.
The Role
The Design Manager will take ownership of the design and technical delivery process on façade remediation and recladding schemes ranging from £5m to £15m, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements, including BSR. The role will report to the Contracts Manager and work closely with internal teams, consultants, and the supply chain.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing the design process from pre-construction through to delivery
* Coordinating between consultants, façade specialists, subcontractors, and internal teams
* Ensuring design compliance with BSR regulations, fire safety guidance, and project specifications
* Reviewing drawings, technical submissions, and identifying coordination issues
* Managing design deliverables in line with project programme and delivery milestones
* Supporting procurement by coordinating technical input and subcontractor packages
* Leading design workshops and attending client and consultant meetings
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in design management, ideally from a main contractor or specialist subcontractor environment, with specific experience in façade, cladding, or remediation projects.
Requirements:
* Previous experience as a Design Manager (or Senior Design Coordinator stepping up)
* Strong understanding of façade systems, fire performance, and regulatory compliance
* Experience working on remediation or recladding projects is highly desirable
* Ability to manage complex design coordination across multiple stakeholders
* Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
* Familiarity with BSR regulations and Building Safety Act requirements
* Based within commuting distance of Central London
