The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Working alongside experienced environmental professionals,contractors and delivery teams,you will provide specialist technical expertise in water quality,water management,flood risk and environmental compliance throughout the construction programme.
## The Role
As the Water Quality Specialist,you will act as the subject matter expert for all aspects of water quality,water discharges,flood risk,water resources and water management across the construction site.
You will support environmental assurance activities by reviewing and developing water management arrangements,advising project teams,and ensuring compliance with environmental permits,licences and regulatory requirements.
The role also involves working closely with multidisciplinary project teams,contractors and external regulators to promote best practice,manage environmental risks and support the successful delivery of the project.
## Key Responsibilities
* Provide specialist technical advice on water quality,water management,water discharges and flood risk.
* Review and provide assurance on water licences,permits and consents,identifying risks,opportunities and compliance gaps.
* Maintain oversight of water management systems and monitor high-risk environmental activities.
* Review water monitoring programmes,monitoring data,trends and reporting to ensure quality and compliance.
* Ensure environmental monitoring schedules remain complete,accurate and compliant with project and regulatory requirements.
* Review and develop water management plans,mitigation measures and site arrangements where required.
* Investigate environmental incidents and permit exceedances,producing technical reviews and recommendations.
* Undertake risk-based inspections,audits and assurance activities,preparing technical reports and assurance notes.
* Support permit applications and provide environmental advice to project delivery teams and contractors.
* Participate in technical working groups relating to water management and environmental compliance.
* Build effective working relationships with regulators,drainage authorities,contractors and project stakeholders.
## About You
You will be an experienced environmental professional with strong technical knowledge of water management and environmental compliance,combined with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

* Good knowledge of environmental permitting,regulatory compliance and relevant UK legislation.
