How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Director of Property

Liverpool | Executive Leadership Opportunity

£79,802 + £5,000 car allowance per annum + attractive benefits package

Help shape the future of Nugent.

MK-Consult is delighted to be partnering exclusively with Nugent to appoint a Director of Property.

This is a rare opportunity to join an established and highly respected charity at a pivotal point in its journey. As Nugent expands its supported housing portfolio and progresses towards Registered Provider status, we're seeking an exceptional property leader to join the Executive Leadership Team and play a pivotal role in the organisation's future.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you'll provide strategic leadership across property, asset management, compliance and investment, ensuring Nugent's homes remain safe, sustainable and fit for the future. You'll lead the development of the organisation's long-term property strategy, supporting portfolio growth and helping establish the foundations of a successful Registered Provider.

Why Nugent?

Nugent has been transforming lives for over 140 years. As the organisation embarks on its Registered Provider journey and continues to expand its supported housing portfolio, this is a unique opportunity to help write the next chapter of its story.

You'll have the autonomy to shape a modern property function, influence Executive and Board decisions and help establish the foundations of a successful Registered Provider.

You'll join a stable, ambitious Executive Leadership Team that values innovation, collaboration and fresh thinking.

If you're motivated by creating lasting change and making a genuine difference, this is an opportunity that doesn't come around very often.

Why this role?

* Executive Leadership Team position

* Reporting directly to the Chief Executive

* Opportunity to shape a new Registered Provider

* Lead strategic property, compliance and asset investment

* Influence Board-level decisions

* Genuine autonomy to build and develop the function

* Play a key role in organisational growth

About the role

Working closely with the Chief Executive, Executive Leadership Team and Board of Trustees, you'll provide strategic leadership across Nugent's property function. You'll shape property strategy, ensure regulatory compliance, drive investment and play a pivotal role in the organisation's long-term growth and Registered Provider ambitions.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Leading the development and delivery of Nugent's long-term Property and Asset Investment Strategy.

* Providing Executive leadership for property compliance, landlord safety and regulatory assurance.

* Driving improvements across responsive repairs, planned maintenance, voids and capital investment programmes.

* Supporting Nugent's Registered Provider journey by ensuring robust governance, compliance and operational readiness.

* Leading property acquisitions, asset investment and portfolio growth opportunities aligned to the organisation's strategic objectives.

* Providing strategic advice to the Executive Team and Trustees on investment priorities, property risk and estate optimisation.

* Developing high-performing teams and embedding a culture of accountability, safety, continuous improvement and customer focus.

* Providing strategic oversight of Nugent's landlord responsibilities, working collaboratively across the organisation to ensure property services, customer outcomes and housing management arrangements support compliance with Registered Provider standards.

About you

We're looking for an accomplished property leader with Executive or senior leadership experience who has the vision, credibility and commercial awareness to help shape Nugent's future.

This role requires an inspiring and commercially astute leader who can balance strategic vision with operational excellence, ensuring Nugent's homes remain safe, compliant, sustainable and ready to support future growth.

You'll bring:

* Significant senior leadership experience within a Registered Provider, Housing Association or similarly regulated housing organisation.

* Extensive knowledge of property compliance, building safety and statutory landlord responsibilities.

* Experience of developing asset investment strategies and leading property services.

* A track record of delivering strategic change within housing, supported housing or another regulated environment.

* The ability to influence at Executive, Board and stakeholder level.

* Strong commercial, analytical and decision-making skills.

* A collaborative leadership style with a passion for developing people and driving organisational improvement.

* A strong understanding of the Consumer Standards, landlord responsibilities and customer-focused service delivery within a Registered Provider environment.

Why this opportunity stands out

This is a role for someone who wants to make their mark.

You'll have the freedom to shape strategy, influence organisational growth and establish a modern property and landlord function that will underpin Nugent's future as a Registered Provider.

You'll be joining an organisation with genuine ambition, a clear vision and a leadership team committed to investing in its people, properties and future.

Above all, you'll have the opportunity to create safe, sustainable homes while helping shape the future of an organisation that has been transforming lives for over 140 years.
