How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Job description

Project Delivery, Telecoms and Unified Communications

Salary: £45,000 plus benefits

Location: Hybrid

Contract: Full time, permanent

The Opportunity:

We are working with an established and growing technology solutions provider specialising in telecommunications, unified communications and business connectivity. They are looking for an experienced Project Delivery Manager to take ownership of customer projects from initial handover through to successful completion.

This is a hands-on, client-facing role for someone who understands the delivery of telecoms and unified communications solutions. You will work closely with customers, engineers, suppliers, sales teams and senior stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the agreed standard.

Previous experience within telecommunications, unified communications, connectivity, voice or a closely related managed communications environment is essential. Candidates without relevant sector experience will not be considered.

The Role:

You will manage several customer projects at the same time, providing clear communication, strong project control and a consistently high level of service.

Projects may include:

  • Unified communications and hosted voice solutions
  • Microsoft Teams Voice and telephony deployments
  • Business connectivity and networking projects
  • Mobile and fixed-line telecoms services
  • Contact centre and communications platforms
  • Technology migrations, installations and customer onboarding

Key Responsibilities:

Project Delivery:

  • Take ownership of telecoms and unified communications projects from sales handover through to completion
  • Create and maintain project plans, delivery schedules, documentation and status reports
  • Coordinate engineers, technical teams, suppliers, carriers and third-party partners
  • Ensure projects are delivered against agreed scope, timescales, budgets and quality standards
  • Track milestones, actions, dependencies and outstanding deliverables
  • Manage multiple customer projects with different levels of complexity
  • Ensure completed projects are handed over effectively to operational and support teams

Customer and Stakeholder Management:

  • Act as the main point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle
  • Lead project kick-off meetings, progress calls and customer reviews
  • Provide clear and regular updates on delivery progress
  • Manage customer expectations professionally and confidently
  • Identify and resolve risks, delays, technical dependencies and delivery issues
  • Build strong working relationships with customers, suppliers and internal teams
  • Escalate issues appropriately while maintaining ownership of the overall project
  • Commercial and Operational Management
  • Monitor project budgets, resources and commercial performance
  • Manage changes to project scope through formal change control
  • Support project forecasting, billing readiness and financial reporting
  • Work closely with sales teams to confirm that customer requirements can be delivered successfully
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer service and project delivery processes
  • Ensure project records and documentation remain accurate and up to date

About You:

You will be organised, commercially aware and confident dealing directly with customers. You will enjoy taking ownership, solving problems and driving projects through to completion.

You must have experience working for a telecoms, unified communications, connectivity, voice, managed communications or closely related technology provider.

Essential Experience:

  • Project management or project delivery experience within telecommunications or unified communications
  • Experience delivering customer-facing voice, connectivity, networking or communications projects
  • A good understanding of the telecoms project lifecycle, from order and provisioning through to installation and customer handover
  • Experience coordinating technical teams, engineers, suppliers and third-party providers
  • Strong customer and stakeholder management skills
  • The ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines
  • Experience maintaining project plans, risks, actions, budgets and delivery reports
  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills

Relevant Sector Background:

We are particularly interested in speaking with candidates currently working for:

  • Unified communications providers
  • Telecoms resellers
  • Managed communications providers
  • Business connectivity providers
  • Hosted voice and cloud telephony companies
  • Microsoft Teams Voice partners
  • Contact centre technology providers
  • Relevant competitors and managed service providers

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience delivering Microsoft Teams Voice, hosted telephony, SIP, connectivity, networking or contact centre solutions
  • Familiarity with telecoms carriers, provisioning processes and number porting
  • Experience working within a telecoms reseller, managed service provider or managed communications business
  • Knowledge of Agile, Waterfall or hybrid project delivery methods
  • PRINCE2, Agile or another recognised project management qualification

What’s on Offer:

  • Salary of £45,000
  • 25 days’ holiday plus Bank Holidays
  • Additional annual leave for each completed year of service, capped at 28 days
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Travelcard loan following successful completion of probation
  • Maternity and paternity leave
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • £1,000 employee referral bonus
  • Company laptop
  • Regular social events
  • Additional office and team benefits

Why Apply?

This is an opportunity to join a growing telecommunications and unified communications business where effective project delivery is central to the customer experience.

You will work alongside experienced technical, sales and operational teams, gain exposure to a broad range of communications projects and have the autonomy to take genuine ownership of customer delivery. Relevant experience within telecoms, unified communications, voice, connectivity or managed communications is essential.
