How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

My client is an established supplier of fashion apparel to leading UK high street retailers and online brands across a broad range of product categories.

They are looking for a creative, trend-driven and experienced Licensed Girlswear Designer to join their growing design team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for licensing to play a key role in trend research, product design and development, while working closely with factories, licensors and the wider design and account management teams.

Designer – Licensed Girlswear - The Role

    • Create innovative, commercial designs in line with customer briefs, ensuring all deadlines are met.
    • Research and identify key seasonal trends through regular store visits, online research and competitor analysis.
    • Manage the design development process from initial concept through to production.
    • Work closely with the Account Manager to ensure designs meet target cost prices from the outset.
    • Liaise with the technical team to ensure specifications accurately reflect the design intent.
    • Produce clear and detailed tech packs, artwork and sample requests for factories.
    • Develop a strong understanding of customer handwriting and brand identity to create commercially successful ranges.
    • Respond promptly to customer and factory queries throughout the development process.
    • Liaise with licensors throughout the approval process, including concept submissions, strike-offs, PP samples and product approvals.
    • This is a London based position with Hybrid working, but also a possibility to be based within the Leicestershire office.

Designer – Licensed Girlswear - The Ideal Candidate

    • Previous experience within licensed apparel is preferred.
    • Bachelor's Degree educated in Fashion Design, Graphic Design, Print Design or a related discipline.
    • Highly creative with a strong commercial eye and excellent trend awareness.
    • Confident using Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop.
    • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across teams and with external partners.
    • A proactive team player with a positive, hands-on approach.
    • Please note: Applicants must have full, permanent Right to Work status in the UK.
