The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
Our client, a growing manufacturing company based in Norwich, are currently seeking a Laser/press Operative to join their team.
This is a full time, permanent position.
Hours: Monday – Thursday: 7am – 5pm
Skills & Experience
* Previous experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or metalworking environment.
* Experience operating laser cutting, press brake, or similar machinery.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
* Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
* Strong understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
About the role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating laser cutting and press equipment, preparing materials for fabrication, and supporting production processes to ensure high-quality stainless steel products are manufactured efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities
* Operate CNC laser cutting machinery to process stainless steel components according to engineering drawings and production schedules.
* Set up and operate press brake equipment to bend and form metal parts to specification.
* Perform saw cutting of stainless steel materials to required dimensions.
* Carry out deburring, grinding, and finishing operations to ensure components meet quality standards.
* Prepare materials and components for welding and fabrication activities.
* Assist with welding preparation, including cleaning, marking, and fitting parts prior to welding.
* Conduct routine quality checks using measuring equipment to verify dimensions and tolerances.
* Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
* Support other production and fabrication activities as required.
