The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
Our client is looking for a skilled and experienced Functional Tester to join their growing Signalling Testing & Commissioning team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering some of the UK's most high-profile rail infrastructure projects - in a collaborative, inclusive, and forward-thinking environment.
What You'll Do:
Carry out functional testing of signalling systems, including CBI and relay-based interlockings.
Test 4-foot trackside equipment to ensure compliance and performance.
Support the Tester in Charge with planning, resource management, and reporting.
Guide and mentor junior team members to support their technical progression.
Ensure all testing activities meet industry and safety standards.
Travel to project sites as required - some overnight stays and unsocial hours may be necessary.
What We're Looking For:
IRSE Licence (Functional Tester 1.3.170) - current or held within the last 5 years
Network Rail Certificate of Competence (CofC) - current or held within the last 5 years
3BI Competence - essential
Demonstrable experience in railway signalling functional testing, including interlocking systems
Solid knowledge of Network Rail Signal Works Testing Handbook and NWR standards
Willing to undertake COSS duties and contribute to staff development
