Job Title - Plant Manager Chilton Biomass

Salary - Competitive Salary plus Veolia Benefits

Grade - GGS 14

Location - Chilton (Durham)

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Plant Manager to join the Veolia team managing our Biomass Facility in Chilton (outskirts of Durham) . The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe, efficient and reliable operation of the Biomass Facility and Pellet Mill.

What you'll be doing:

Responsible for overall performance of the business unit
Direction and coordination of all aspects of the Biomass Plant, liaising with the site Operations Manager and Maintenance Manager
Drive high levels of plant performance
Assist in establishing annual goals and objectives while supporting the strategy for the business unit
Maintain profit and loss ratios
Deliver operational efficiencies and cost-saving solutions
Act with a large degree of autonomy
Manage and support your teams to be the best that they can be
Prepare annual budgets
Interact with internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis
Liaise with relevant experts within your region and across the business to design and implement technical solutions
Identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement
Communicate business objectives, performance and other matters of business to staff

What we're looking for:

Previous technical experience from a continuous process background
Degree, or equivalent in an engineering discipline
Strong leadership skills
Previous experience of working at a senior level
Ability to successfully support and manage your teams by offering them guidance and taking a mentor approach to your direct reports
Negotiating and influencing skills
Strong commercial acumen
Familiar with Industrial Health and safety compliance
Power Generation Experience
NEBOSH
