The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
We are seeking an experienced Sub Agent to join a major rail and infrastructure improvement scheme in Hindley, supporting the delivery of a large-scale civil engineering and rail enhancement project for a leading UK main contractor.
This project forms part of a significant investment into transport infrastructure, involving rail-side civil engineering, structural works, drainage, access improvements, earthworks, and multidisciplinary construction activities within operational railway environments.
The Sub Agent will be responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and delivery of works packages while ensuring safety, quality, commercial performance, and programme targets are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing sections of work across rail and civil engineering packages
* Assisting with programme delivery and site coordination
* Supporting engineers and supervisors on daily operations
* Monitoring subcontractor performance and productivity
* Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
* Reviewing RAMS, permits, and construction documentation
* Liaising with project management teams and stakeholders
* Supporting commercial reporting, progress tracking, and change management
Essential Requirements
* Previous experience as a Sub Agent within rail or civil engineering
* Strong understanding of rail infrastructure and construction processes
* Valid PTS certification
* CSCS Card
* HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
* Strong organisational and leadership skills
* Excellent communication and reporting abilities

* Experience delivering Network Rail projects
* Knowledge of NEC contracts
