How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Job description

Master Production Scheduler
£45-55,000
Department: Production
Reporting to: Operations Manager

Do you want to work for an ever expanding business turning over £100m and with 330 employees working nationally on infrastructure projects?
Are you an experienced and confident production scheduler?

The company
• Celebrating 50 years in business in 2024
• 330ppl
• 5 buildings on site offering turnkey operations, with new offices coming soon
• Turnover approaching £100m (2019 - £25m)
• Family run still, with regular events including summer / xmas parties and events / days out
• Career progression (3 people I've placed previously were promoted within 12 months).

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Master Production Scheduler to take full ownership of the production schedule across our manufacturing facilities.
You will play a key role in ensuring production is planned efficiently, customer commitments are met, supply chain risks are managed proactively, and opportunities for continuous improvement are identified and delivered.
Working closely with Production, Engineering, Sales, Procurement, Finance and senior management, you will balance customer demand, capacity, resources and operational priorities to deliver an effective, data-driven planning process.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Scheduling
• Create, maintain and optimise the Master Production Schedule for assigned facilities.
• Ensure production plans support the customer order book, inventory requirements and On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) targets.
• Prepare and communicate weekly production schedules to Production Management, subcontract partners and Senior Management.
• Lead daily production meetings and communicate priorities, constraints, risks and schedule changes.
• Provide labour resource plans and work with Production Management to achieve effective load levelling.
• Monitor performance against plan and proactively manage delays and rescheduling requirements.

Stakeholder & Supply Chain Management
• Act as a key liaison between Production and Fabrications, Engineering, Finance, Business Support, Sales and Procurement.
• Coordinate and facilitate the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process.
• Identify and communicate material and supply chain risks, recommending practical recovery solutions where required.
• Facilitate weekly cross-functional reviews to assess performance, agree priorities and manage rescheduling.

Data & Continuous Improvement
• Develop capacity What If scenarios to identify constraints, capacity gaps and improvement opportunities.
• Produce and maintain Advanced Planning & Scheduling (APS) KPIs, providing analysis and insights to support data-driven decisions.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions to improve planning and operational performance.
• Champion process and system improvements using Continuous Improvement methodologies.
• Support the development of predictive scheduling and planning capabilities.

Compliance
• Ensure full compliance with the company's Business Management System within your area of responsibility.

About You

You will be highly organised, analytical and proactive, with the ability to manage competing priorities and influence stakeholders across the business.
Ideally, you will have:
• Experience in production planning, scheduling, manufacturing or supply chain.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Experience with capacity planning, resource requirements and performance metrics.
• An understanding of S&OP, MRP/ERP or Advanced Planning & Scheduling.
• A strong continuous improvement mindset and the confidence to challenge and improve existing processes.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for a results-driven production planning professional to take ownership of a critical business process and make a measurable impact on manufacturing performance, delivery, efficiency and supply chain resilience.
If you enjoy solving complex planning challenges, working collaboratively and driving positive change, we'd love to hear from you.

Working Hours

Total: 37.5 hours per week
Monday to Thursday: 07:30-09:00 and 16:15-17:45
Friday: 07:30-08:30 and 12:00-13:00
