Gold Education Recruitment is currently working with welcoming and supportive secondary schools across Braintree and the surrounding areas, seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Graduate Cover Supervisor to join their team on a full-time basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate with experience working with children or young people who is considering a future career in education. The role offers valuable classroom experience and, for the right candidate, a strong potential route into teacher training.
What You'll Be Doing
• Supervising classes across a range of subjects using pre-prepared lesson materials
• Ensuring students remain engaged, focused and on task
• Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Creating a positive and productive learning environment
• Supporting students with their learning and development
• Building positive relationships with students and school staff
• Providing feedback to teaching staff following lessons
• Supporting pupils across different year groups where required
• Gaining valuable first-hand experience within a secondary school environment
What We're Looking For
• A degree in any subject
• Experience working with children or young people
• A genuine interest in pursuing a career in teaching or education
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Confidence working with groups of young people
• A positive, professional and adaptable attitude
• The ability to think on your feet and adapt to different situations
• Previous experience in schools, coaching, tutoring, youth work or mentoring would be highly advantageous
A Strong Route into Teacher Training
This role is ideal for graduates who are considering a career in teaching but would like to gain valuable classroom experience first.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to develop skills in:
