This role will initially be offered on a temporary basis, with the opportunity to become permanent after 12 weeks for the right candidate.
The Role
You will work closely with pupils who may present with:
* Social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs
* Autism and additional SEND
* Challenging behaviour
* Trauma-related barriers to learning
Using the Thrive Approach, you will support pupils in developing emotional resilience, improving engagement, and building positive relationships within school.
Responsibilities
* Deliver targeted Thrive interventions and emotional support
* Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
* Support behaviour regulation strategies
* Work collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams and external agencies
* Monitor progress and contribute to pupil support plans
* Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment
The Ideal Candidate
* Holds a recognised Thrive Practitioner qualification
* Has experience working within PRU, SEND or SEMH settings
* Is calm, resilient and empathetic
* Has strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
* Is passionate about supporting vulnerable young people
* Team Teach training is desirable but not essential
