The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
Our client is seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to join their manufacturing team within a precision engineering environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist who enjoys hands-on engineering work and producing high quality components to tight tolerances.
This role is suited to someone confident working with manual machines in a fast paced workshop, where accuracy, attention to detail, and pride in workmanship are essential.

Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate manual machining equipment including lathes, milling machines, and related workshop tools
Manufacture precision components to engineering drawings and specifications
Work to tight tolerances ensuring high levels of accuracy and quality
Carry out routine checks and measurements using precision measuring equipment
Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to meet manufacturing requirements
Identify and report any quality or machining issues promptly
Skills, Experience, and Requirements:
Previous experience as a Manual Machinist in a manufacturing or engineering environment
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Strong understanding of machining principles and workshop practices
Experience using precision measuring equipment (e.g. verniers, micrometers, gauges)
High attention to detail and commitment to quality
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
Experience with both milling and turning operations
Background in precision engineering or low-volume/high-mix manufacturing
Apprenticeship or engineering qualification (HNC/HND or equivalent)
