How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Carrick is a large 5-bedroom bungalow located in the quiet village of Playing Place a few miles south of Truro and close to the popular maritime town of Falmouth. As a Deputy Manager you will assist the Registered Manager in all aspects of the day-to-day running of the home, this includes ensuring that the needs of the service users are met, managing the staff team, monitoring the quality of care and support, ensuring high standards of professional practice, whilst achieving compliance with external regulatory standards.
Reporting to the Registered Manager, the post holder will work to ensure that specialist and quality care and support for service users is maintained through assisting in the planning, implementation, supervision and evaluation of service user care and support. The Deputy Manager's will also be required to ensure that policies, procedures, systems and workplace practices are fully implemented and consistently applied.

You will be passionate about motivating and empowering your team and encouraging their development. You will also be an inspiring role model, leading by example, imparting knowledge, championing best practice and promoting new thinking, enabling the team to help the people we support to make choices and decisions, live each day to the fullest and develop life skills along the way.

We are looking for a highly motivated team member who will either have or be working towards NVQ/Diploma in Health and Social Care level 3/5. Experience of working with individuals with communication difficulties is desirable. A sound working knowledge and understanding of CQC Regulations and Standards, the Mental Capacity Act and the Deprivation of Liberty Standards is also desirable.

About The Role
Deputy Manager – Key Responsibilities
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in delivering high-quality, person-centred care services.
Key duties include:
Supporting the day-to-day management of the service, ensuring individuals receive safe, effective, and person-centred support.
Promoting the health, safety, wellbeing, rights, and independence of the people we support.
Ensuring compliance with CQC standards, safeguarding requirements, company policies, and contractual obligations.
Leading, supervising, coaching, and developing support staff through recruitment, induction, training, supervision, and performance management.
Managing staff rotas and workforce planning to maintain safe staffing levels and high-quality service delivery.
Monitoring quality assurance processes, incidents, risk assessments, care plans, medication administration, and record keeping.
Supporting audits, regulatory inspections, and continuous service improvement initiatives.
Building positive relationships with families, professionals, local authorities, and external agencies.
