The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
Head of Finance - Hybrid (Minimum 3 days office-based)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Finance to join a unique and well-established heritage organisation during a pivotal period of transformation.
Reporting to the Finance Director and working closely with the Executive Team, you'll lead the day-to-day finance function, managing a small team while ensuring robust financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and financial controls. You'll also play a key role in an exciting strategic programme to support the organisation's transformation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop the finance team, ensuring an efficient and effective finance function.
Produce accurate monthly management accounts, budgets and forecasts.
Manage cash flow, financial reporting, statutory compliance, VAT and payroll.
Oversee the annual audit and maintain strong financial controls.
Partner with budget holders and senior leadership to provide commercial financial insight.
Support a major organisational transformation, including new accounting processes, Gift Aid implementation and the creation of a trading subsidiary.
Drive continuous improvement across finance systems, processes and reporting.
About You
ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (or equivalent senior finance experience).
Proven experience leading a finance function and managing a team.
Strong technical accounting, reporting, budgeting and forecasting skills.
Advanced Excel skills and experience using finance systems.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
Experience within charities, not-for-profit organisations or finance transformation projects would be advantageous but is not essential.
