The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor preferably with prior experience in the marine sector who is able to work a mixture of remote, office and home working.
Quantity Surveyor – The Company
The company is an independent international engineering consultancy who provide effective solutions to worldwide marine and civil engineering projects that create successful ports, shipyards, and other maritime infrastructure.
Quantity Surveyor – The Role
* Preparation of accurate cost estimates
* Bill of Quantities
* Be familiar with industry pricing information
* Provide clients with contractual, legal and procurement advice
* Review of bills of quantities/price schedules for tender evaluations
* Provide advice on procurement strategies and contract selection
* Provide advice on claims and settlement strategies
* Post-contract support
* Liaise with Project Managers to develop existing working relationships as well as future work opportunities
Quantity Surveyor – The Candidate
We would welcome applications from those with Estimating, Quantity Surveying or Claims backgrounds. If you have a background in the Maritime or Marine sector please make this clear in your application.
* BSc/BEng in a related discipline
* Master’s degree desirable but not essential
* RICS or CICES member
* At least 5 years’ QS experience
* Proficient in the use of estimating software
* Able to write commercial/ technical reports and preparation of presentations
* Experienced in claims settlement
* Previous experience with marine and/or civil engineering projects preferable
