The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
As an Wirer, you will be responsible for the assembly, wiring and testing of electrical components, looms and control panels in line with engineering drawings, build documentation and customer standards.
Key Responsibilities
Wire and assemble electrical components, control panels and cable looms to engineering drawings and build instructions
Install cable looms and harnesses across a range of electrical assemblies
Carry out crimping, soldering, lacing and termination activities to required standards
Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics and electrical layout drawings
Work with a variety of connector types, conduit systems, trunking and cable management solutions
Conduct functional, continuity and insulation testing of completed assemblies (training provided where required)
Complete manufacturing and quality documentation including MITPs, Traveller Documents, FAIRs and QARs
Work to IPC-620 standards and internal build procedures
Maintain compliance with all quality, health & safety, environmental and security procedures
Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiativesSkills & Experience
Previous experience working as a Wirer within a regulated engineering or manufacturing environment
Experience working to MOD, IPC-620 or DEF-STAN wiring standards
Ability to follow detailed electrical drawings and build instructions accurately
Competent using hand tools, test equipment and manufacturing documentation
