The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Job Responsibilities
Lead the Finance Business Partnering function for Children’s Services.
Manage and support a team of 5 finance professionals.
Work closely with senior service leaders to provide financial advice, challenge decisions, and support service improvement.
Provide strategic financial guidance to help deliver savings, improve efficiency, and achieve better outcomes for residents.
Monitor and report on financial performance, budgets, risks, and service delivery.
Support the development and implementation of financial plans and new delivery models.
Provide high-quality financial support and insight to senior stakeholders.
Support the Council’s Section 151 responsibilities through strong financial management and governance.
Promote continuous improvement, innovation, and effective financial practices across the service.
Act as a professional finance lead, providing expert advice and ensuring effective use of resources.
Person Specification
Fully qualified accountant with a CCAB qualification or equivalent.
Significant senior-level experience in finance management and business partnering.
Experience working within a complex organisation, ideally within Local Government / Public Sector.
Strong experience in strategic financial planning, budget management, and financial reporting.
Experience leading and developing finance teams.
Ability to influence, challenge, and build strong relationships with senior stakeholders.
Strong understanding of financial governance, risk management, and delivering value for money.
Experience supporting service transformation, efficiency savings, and improvement programmes.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to provide strategic advice while managing operational finance responsibilities.
