Commercial Manager

We're recruiting for a Commercial Manager to join a growing and forward-thinking business delivering specialist technical services across the environmental, surveying and infrastructure sectors.

This is a newly created leadership role offering the opportunity to shape and develop a multidisciplinary technical function. Working closely with senior leadership, you'll play a key role in driving commercial performance, developing client relationships, supporting business growth and leading a team of technical specialists.

Whether your background is in surveying, environmental monitoring, planning, GIS or environmental consultancy, this is an exciting opportunity to use your technical expertise in a broader commercial leadership position.

Ideal Candidate

Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification within a relevant technical discipline
Proven experience within one of the following technical areas:
Land Surveying
Engineering Surveying
Environmental Monitoring
Planning
GIS / Geospatial
Environmental Consultancy
Experience leading, mentoring or developing technical teams
Strong commercial awareness with experience managing client relationships, quotations, tenders or project profitability
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Able to identify opportunities for business growth and continuous improvement
A collaborative leadership style with a passion for developing peopleSuitable Backgrounds

Key Responsibilities

· Lead, mentor and develop a multidisciplinary technical team
· Drive the commercial performance of the department, identifying opportunities for growth and increased profitability
· Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and key stakeholders
· Oversee quotations, tenders and technical project delivery
· Support business development activities and help secure new work
· Improve technical processes, systems and ways of working
· Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards
· Collaborate with operational teams to deliver commercially successful technical solutions
· Monitor team performance, resource planning and departmental objectives
