As a Veterinary Surgeon, they will be responsible for delivering high-quality medical and surgical care to a diverse range of patients. Their day-to-day duties will include conducting consultations, diagnosing and treating illnesses, performing surgeries, and providing preventative care advice to pet owners. Collaboration is key, and they will work closely with a team of experienced veterinarians, nurses, and support staff to ensure the best outcomes for their patients.
This position is ideal for someone with 2-5 years of post-graduate experience, offering a competitive full-time equivalent salary ranging from £42,000 to £55,000, dependent on experience. The role is designed to fit your lifestyle, with the option of a 3, 4, or 5-day work week. Additionally, the rota includes a manageable 1:4 Friday/Saturday shift, ensuring a balanced work-life schedule. On Friday nights, the focus is on in-patient care, with no new emergencies , these are handled by an OOH service. Saturdays involve first opinion consultations and occasional non-routine operations, concluding at 17:30 with no further on-call duties.
The average weekly hours for this role are 37.6, typically spread over four days, but there is flexibility to adjust the hours to suit your needs. The 1:4 rota is a fixed aspect of the role, ensuring a predictable and stable schedule.
