We are recruiting Family Help Workers to join our supportive and dynamic teams across Nottingham City. This is an excellent opportunity for qualified Social Workers at the beginning of their career who are passionate about making a real difference to children, young people, and families.
⚠️ Please note: This is not a Social Worker post, however applicants must hold a Social Work qualification.
About the Role As a Family Help Worker, you will work directly with children and families across Nottingham, delivering high-quality early help and targeted interventions using a trauma-informed, relational approach.
This role involves working within:
- Family homes
- Family Hubs
- Joint offices
- Schools
- Community settings across Nottingham City
Working Hours
- 37 hours per week
- Core hours: 8:30am – 4:50pm
- Flexibility required to meet the needs of children and families
- Complete Early Help Assessments and SMART multi-agency action plans using the Signs of Safety framework
- Act as Lead Professional, arranging and chairing Team Around the Family meetings
- Support children aged 0–19 and their families
- Deliver high-quality personal and social development interventions
- Work alongside Social Work Lead Professionals for families subject to Child in Need and Child Protection Plans
- Support families to build sustainable support networks and resilience
- Engage children and young people in planning, decision-making and goal-setting
- Participate in a duty system to ensure continuity of support
- Maintain accurate records using electronic case management systems
- Work in partnership with voluntary and statutory agencies
- Promote Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in all aspects of practice
- Engage in reflective supervision and professional development
- Hold a recognised Social Work qualification
- Be passionate about early intervention and preventative work
- Have strong communication and multi-agency working skills
- Be confident working independently within family homes
- Be committed to trauma-informed and relational practice
- Be organised and able to manage competing priorities
- Hold a full driving licence with access to a vehicle
