A Star Care is recruiting kind, reliable and professional Care Assistants to support service users in the Harrogate area, primarily across HG1 and nearby postcodes.
This is a domiciliary care role providing support to adults in their own homes, helping people to remain safe, independent, comfortable and treated with full dignity at all times.
Please note: some packages may require female care workers due to the personal care needs and preferences of individual service users. Where this applies, it will be treated as a Genuine Occupational Requirement under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1.
What the role involves:
* Providing personal care, including support with washing, dressing and continence care, in a respectful and dignified manner
* Preparing light meals, snacks and drinks
* Prompting or assisting with medication, where trained and authorised to do so
* Supporting safe mobility and movement within the home
* Completing accurate, timely care records after each visit
* Observing and reporting any changes in health, mood, appetite or wellbeing to the appropriate person
* Building professional, trustworthy relationships with service users and their families
What we are looking for:
You do not need years of experience to apply, but you do need the right values. We are looking for someone who is genuinely compassionate, patient and dependable, and who understands the importance of treating every person in their care with dignity and respect.
You should be able to:
* Communicate clearly and professionally at all times
* Follow and adhere to individual care plans
* Maintain strict confidentiality in all matters
* Work independently and use your initiative when needed
* Manage your time reliably across multiple visits in a day
Requirements:
* Right to work in the UK (this will be verified during compliance checks)
* Enhanced DBS check required (A Star Care will support this process)
* Willingness to complete all required training before starting work
* Reliable, punctual and professional approach
* Able to travel across Harrogate and surrounding areas
* A driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable but not essential for all rounds
Pay and hours:
* Pay: £13.00 per hour
* Mileage: £0.45 per mile for travel between calls
* Location: Harrogate, North Yorkshire (HG1 and surrounding areas)
* Hours: Ongoing domiciliary care work including morning, lunch, tea and evening calls
* Weekend availability is desirable
* Immediate start available, subject to satisfactory interview and compliance checks
