How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Location: Hessle
Salary: £45,000 - £53,000 + excellent benefits

Take ownership of quality, solve complex manufacturing challenges and drive meaningful improvement. Consortium Professional Recruitment are partnering with an established manufacturer to recruit a Quality Engineer for their team in Hessle.

This is a hands-on quality engineering role within a highly regulated manufacturing environment, offering the opportunity to get close to operations, tackle real production challenges and influence how quality and process performance are improved.

You'll work across Quality, Engineering and Manufacturing, leading investigations, supporting validation and change activity, and using data and structured problem-solving techniques to deliver sustainable improvements.

The Role As Quality Engineer, you'll be responsible for:

Providing day-to-day quality engineering support across manufacturing operations, helping teams identify and resolve quality issues quickly and effectively.
Leading root cause investigations using structured methodologies including 5 Why, Fishbone, DMAIC and 8D.
Driving corrective and preventive actions through to effective, sustainable resolution.
Supporting change control, risk assessments, verification and validation activities within a regulated environment.
Conducting Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Gage R&R and statistical analysis to support robust, data-led decision making.
Using quality and Six Sigma tools including SPC, capability analysis and DOE to understand and improve process performance.
Leading and contributing to continuous improvement projects focused on defect reduction, yield, process capability and operational performance.
Working collaboratively with Manufacturing, Engineering and Quality colleagues to maintain high standards of product quality and compliance. About You We're looking for a Quality Engineer who combines strong technical knowledge with a practical, improvement-focused approach.
You'll ideally bring:

A degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Science or another relevant technical discipline.
Quality engineering experience gained within a regulated manufacturing environment.
Experience within medical devices would be particularly advantageous, although candidates from other highly regulated sectors are encouraged to apply.
Strong knowledge of root cause analysis, risk management, validation and statistical quality methods.
Practical experience with tools such as MSA, SPC, Gage R&R, DOE and process capability analysis.
The confidence to investigate problems, challenge constructively and work with different teams to implement improvements.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
A proactive, analytical approach and genuine interest in continuous improvement. What's on Offer? Alongside a salary of £45,000 - £53,000, the package includes:

Excellent pension scheme
Private medical insurance
Life assurance
Staff perks and employee benefits programme
Professional development and career progression opportunities
Supportive and inclusive working environment Interested? If you're a Quality Engineer looking for a role where you can have a genuine impact on manufacturing quality and continuous improvement, we'd be keen to hear from you.
