We are seeking an experienced, commercially astute Internal Sales Manager to lead and develop an account management and customer service function. This Internal Sales Manager role is focused on nurturing, maintaining, and growing relationships with an established portfolio of core repeat customers.

You will own the commercial and service relationships, ensuring high service level agreements (SLAs) are met, repeat orders and quotes are handled seamlessly, and senior leadership is relieved from day-to-day customer escalations.

Key Account Management: Take ownership of our core repeat customer base. Ensure customer satisfaction, foster long-term relationships, and secure repeat business without the requirement for proactive business hunting.

Commercial & Quotation Oversight: Manage commercial elements including customer quoting, order processing, and pricing structures in collaboration with internal project managers and supply chain teams. Ensure alignment with company margins and service expectations.

Service Level Agreements (SLAs) & Support: Oversee service delivery and SLAs, working closely with the technical/commissioning engineering leads to ensure customer support issues and on-site servicing are managed effectively.

Team Leadership & People Management: Lead and develop a small, existing account management and sales support team (including a Business Development Executive and Sales Engineer). Provide clear direction, commercial focus, and coaching.

Escalation Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for high-level customer queries and commercial escalations, ensuring rapid and professional resolution to protect key client relationships.

Experience: Proven background in commercial account management, customer service management, or commercial operations—ideally within manufacturing, engineering, capital equipment, or heavy industry environments.

Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of commercial processes, quoting pipelines, contract management, and margin awareness.

People Leadership: Demonstrated experience in managing, mentoring, and bringing out the best in small teams. Ability to set clear performance standards and foster a collaborative environment.

Customer-Centric & Professional: Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills. Able to act as a credible, calm, and authoritative face of the business during customer escalations.

Adaptability: Comfortable working within an established, evolving SME environment where operational processes and continuous improvement are ongoing priorities.
