The Role
Working within a busy machine shop environment, you will be responsible for producing high-quality precision-engineered components safely, efficiently and accurately, ensuring customer and production requirements are consistently met.
CNC Miller Key Responsibilities
* Manufacture precision components to exact specifications with a focus on quality and efficiency.
* Interpret and work from detailed engineering drawings.
* Program, set and operate CNC Milling Machines using Heidenhain controls.
* Create programmes and production methods for new components using Fusion 360 or a similar CAD/CAM system.
* Carry out first-off and in-process inspections using gauges, measuring equipment and quality control procedures.
* Support production planning and material ordering activities where required.
* Assist with maintaining a clean, organised and safe workshop environment.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in line with ISO9001 standards.
* Work collaboratively within a team-focused environment and support business objectives.
* Adhere to all company policies, quality standards and health & safety procedures.
Skills & Experience Required
* Previous experience as a CNC Miller, CNC Machinist or Precision Engineer.
* Strong understanding of machining practices and mechanical engineering principles.
* Experience programming and operating Heidenhain controlled CNC machines.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including both metric and imperial dimensions.
* Competent in self-inspection and quality checking of finished work.
* Highly motivated, reliable and able to work independently.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to meeting customer deadlines.
Training may be provided for the right candidate with relevant machining experience and a willingness to develop.
