About the Role
Teach Now is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils across Year 1 and Year 2 at an inclusive mainstream primary school in Barnet.
You will work flexibly across both year groups, helping children aged five to seven access learning, manage emotions and build confidence and independence. Your day may include classroom support, movement breaks, transitions and supervised playground activities, with the final timetable set by the school.
You will use clear expectations, positive reinforcement and calm de-escalation strategies to support behaviour and emotional regulation. Breaking learning into manageable steps will help pupils stay engaged and experience success, while close collaboration with teachers and other teaching assistants will keep support consistent.
This role would suit someone who enjoys the pace of Key Stage 1 and brings patience, energy and firm but fair boundaries. It is a varied opportunity where you can see meaningful progress in pupils confidence, participation and relationships over time.

A calm, consistent and positive approach to behaviour support.
Sound understanding of safeguarding responsibilities within a school setting.
The right to work in the UK and willingness to complete an enhanced DBS and other required checks.
