How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Job description

Job context
The International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG) is a highly respected professional membership organisation across 165 countries comprised primarily of clinicians who are ultrasound experts in the field of obstetrics and gynecology. The Society includes obstetricians and gynecologists, trainees, medical doctors, scientists, sonographers, midwives and other health professionals who work to advance women’s health and well-being globally. Our mission is to improve women’s health through the provision, advancement and dissemination of the highest quality education, standards and research information around ultrasound in obstetrics and gynecology. This is achieved through education and training, programmatic initiatives and advocacy.

Job purpose
This new role is a strategic and hands-on business development role responsible for growing and diversifying ISUOG’s non-membership income through sponsorship, strategic partnerships, and industry relationships. The role combines high-level relationship strategy with the practical delivery of commercial agreements - identifying, pitching, negotiating and contracting new partners, while working closely with the CEO and relevant ISUOG teams (who own delivery/fulfilment) to ensure sponsors and partners receive what they were promised.

This is a revenue-generating and relationship-building role at the heart of the ISUOG’s commercial strategy, requiring credibility with senior industry stakeholders and the confidence to sell the Society's value proposition. The role makes an important contribution to organisational strategy and external relations.

Main duties and responsibilities

Quality assurance

Maintain quality of, and prioritisation of, own workload on a day-to-day basis, in line with deadlines and standards
Constantly improve the quality of service for all ISUOG stakeholders
Work with relevant team members to resolve problems and improve issues promptly
Deliver the highest level of customer service and support to stakeholders (e.g. volunteers, committees, members, delegates, faculty, sponsors, partners, suppliers etc.) where required
Oversee the smooth delivery of sponsorship and partnership commitments across the organisation, working closely with the relevant departments and colleagues who are responsible for fulfilment
Act as an authority and champion of sound commercial practice, ensuring all sponsorship and partnership agreements reflect ISUOG's standards and values

Sponsorship sales and business development

Develop and execute a sponsorship strategy and sales pipeline across ISUOG’s portfolio of activities (events, education programmes, publications, digital channels, etc.)
Identify, approach and pitch to prospective corporate sponsors and commercial partners
Create compelling sponsorship propositions and packages in collaboration with the relevant ISUOG teams, ensuring offers are deliverable
Own the sponsorship sales cycle end-to-end: prospecting, pitching, negotiating terms, and closing
Maintain accurate partnership records, pipeline activity and engagement history within the CRM, ensuring it serves as the single source of truth for all partnership activity
Work with the CEO to set and be accountable for sponsorship revenue targets

Contract and commercial management

Draft, negotiate and manage contracts with sponsors and commercial partners
Maintain a contract tracker covering terms, value, renewal dates and obligations
Ensure commercial terms are commercially sound and legally appropriate
Manage renewal conversations and identify opportunities to upsell or expand existing sponsor relationships

Strategic partnerships with other associations and societies

Identify and cultivate partnerships with complementary associations, societies and industry bodies
Lead negotiation and drafting of Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with partner organisations
Manage ongoing relationships with partner organisations, ensuring mutual value is delivered and tracked
Represent ISUOG in external partnership discussions and industry forums, where relevant

Industry Relations Committee

Establish, recruit for, co-Chair and manage an Industry Relations Committee composed of subject matter experts from across the industry
Set the committee's terms of reference, meeting cadence and reporting lines
Use the committee as a strategic sounding board to identify new avenues for industry engagement and revenue generation
Translate committee insight into actionable business development opportunities
Report committee outputs and recommendations to the Board of Trustees as appropriate

Cross-functional collaboration

Work closely with the relevant ISUOG teams to hand over confirmed sponsorships for fulfilment, providing clear briefs on sponsor entitlements and expectations
Act as the commercial voice in planning conversations for events and education programmes, ensuring sponsorship/partnership potential is considered early
Provide regular reporting to the CEO and Management Team on pipeline, revenue, and partnership activity

Strategy

Contribute to ISUOG’s overall commercial and income diversification strategy
Monitor the external landscape (industry trends, competitor societies, sponsor priorities) to keep the partnership offer relevant and competitive
Recommend new partnership models or revenue streams as opportunities arise

General

Compliance with data protection guidelines, GDPR and ISUOG policies
Development of positive relationships with stakeholders, internal and external
Travel within the UK and internationally, as required, to attend ISUOG events and meet with prospective and existing partners
Performance of other duties as necessary in agreement with the CEO, which are reasonable, to meet the needs of the organisation
Commitment to the organisation’s aims and values.

Please read the job description and person specification on the next page to find out more about the position and see if you’re the right fit.
