VP, AI Governance Officer - Financial Services 12 month FTC
Lawrence Harvey is supporting a leading financial services insitutiton based in London on their search for their next AI Governance Officer. The AI Governance Officer will act as a trusted facilitator of structured decision-making for AI initiatives—able to engage Director-level and above stakeholders with confidence, while personally running the day-to-day governance processes that make AI oversight real.
This is not a technical (AI) subject-matter expert role. Success in this position comes from building frameworks, operating governance processes end-to-end, and thriving in ambiguity—rather than providing technical opinions or acting as a final decision-maker.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and run AI governance processes across the full lifecycle.
- Design, build, launch, and scale new governance frameworks that cut across multiple divisions, functions, and processes.
- Support AI use case prioritization.
- Deliver or support AI literacy and governance training to promote safe, responsible AI adoption across the organization.
- Hands-on operational ownership is non-negotiable
Required Experience:
- Proven experience designing and implementing AI governance frameworks in regulated environments.
- Demonstrated hands-on ownership of end-to-end governance processes.
- Experience delivering training or AI governance workshops.
- Solid business-level understanding of AI, such as Claude and Gemini.
- Familiarity with AI-related standards and frameworks, NIST, EU AI Act, ISO42001.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present clearly to senior stakeholders.
This role is based in London with hybrid working - 2 days in the office is mandatory.
Salary is up to £105,000 + bonus.
