The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Proposal Engineer to join a growing Product Solutions team in Cramlington.
As a Technical Proposal Engineer, you'll work closely with Bid Leaders to develop technically compliant, commercially competitive engineering proposals for customers across international markets.
The Technical Proposal Engineer will review customer specifications, engineering drawings and technical documentation, carrying out calculations and evaluations to help determine the most appropriate engineering solution.
You'll coordinate technical input from Engineering, Costing, Purchasing, Manufacturing and suppliers, supporting the preparation of technical proposals, compliance documentation, clarifications and project cost estimates.
The Technical Proposal Engineer will also engage directly with customers and suppliers on technical matters, identifying potential deviations and ensuring proposed equipment is suitable for its intended application and operating environment.
Once projects are secured, you'll support the technical handover into the project team, ensuring requirements, calculations and bid clarifications are communicated effectively.
This Technical Proposal Engineer opportunity would suit someone who enjoys combining engineering with the commercial side of a manufacturing business and wants exposure to the front end of major international projects.

Skills & Experience:
* HNC, HND or FdEng in Mechanical Engineering or a similar technical discipline
* Mechanical Engineering degree would be advantageous
* Experience within engineering, applications engineering, manufacturing, proposals or a similar technical role
* Good understanding of engineering principles, manufacturing processes and fabrication methods
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications
* Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
* Commercial awareness with an interest in technical proposals and estimating
* Ability to coordinate across engineering, commercial and operational teams
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* Microsoft Office proficiency
* Autodesk knowledge would be advantageous
