The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
We are looking for an experienced Engineer / Surveyor to support a ducting squad on a straightforward cable installation project in the York / Market Weighton area.
The successful candidate will work alongside the ducting team, primarily setting out and marking the cable route and carrying out level checks as the cable duct is installed. Works are Monday to Friday for around 4/5 weeks, with accommodation and total station (Trimble GPS R12i/ R990 Kit) provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Set out and mark the cable route in accordance with project requirements.
- Work closely with the ducting squad throughout installation.
- Check and monitor levels as the cable duct is installed.
- Carry out general site surveying and engineering duties as required.
- Ensure setting-out and level information is accurate and clearly communicated to the site team.
- Maintain a high standard of accuracy and safety while working on site.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Site Engineer, Setting-Out Engineer or Surveyor.
- Experience with setting out and level checking, preferably within civils, utilities, ducting or cable installation.
- Ability to work independently and alongside a site team.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Full understanding of site health and safety requirements.
- Relevant qualifications and tickets where applicable.
