How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Head of Care to join a growing children’s residential organisation. This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone with a strong background in children’s residential care, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance.

The successful candidate will provide strategic oversight across 19 children’s homes, with the organisation continuing to expand and projected to grow to 23 homes by 2028.

Working closely with the Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer, you will play a key role in shaping the organisation’s safeguarding framework, quality standards, and regulatory compliance across all services.

Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership and oversight across multiple children’s residential homes

Act as the Organisational Designated Safeguarding Lead (Level 5)

Ensure high standards of safeguarding, quality assurance and regulatory compliance across all homes

Support and guide senior operational leaders including Responsible Individuals, Regional Managers and Registered Managers

Monitor Ofsted standards and ensure homes are operating in line with regulatory requirements

Lead safeguarding investigations and ensure robust safeguarding practice across the organisation

Work closely with senior leadership to support the continued growth and development of the service

Requirements

Significant experience within children’s residential care

Previous experience in a senior leadership or multi-site management role

Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding frameworks

Experience overseeing multiple services or regions

Proven ability to maintain high quality standards and drive service improvement

Level 5 qualification in leadership and management (or willingness to obtain if required)
