3-Month Temporary Contract
Hours: Mond-Frid (8am-4pm or 9am-5pm)
Based in Thornbury (This position could also be based in Caerphilly)
£18 - £25 per hour (Depending on experience)
We are looking for a hands-on AS400 / IBM i Support Specialist to join an established team on an initial 3-month contract.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys investigating problems, getting to the root cause and finding practical, long-term solutions.
The Role
You'll act as a specialist point of support for AS400 / IBM system issues, independently investigating problems and identifying ways to improve system performance and business processes.
You'll be responsible for:
* Investigating and resolving AS400 / IBM i system issues
* Writing and enhancing reports and SQL queries
* Analysing and validating data
* Troubleshooting system and process failures
* Documenting findings and providing clear recommendations
* Developing sustainable solutions to improve processes
What We're Looking For
* Strong AS400 / IBM i knowledge
* Good SQL and report writing skills
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability
* The confidence to investigate issues independently
* Experience with data analysis and system processes
* Experience within a manufacturing or operational environment would be an advantage.
