Main Duties & Responsibilities
* Assist with the preparation and maintenance of financial records, including general ledger entries.
* Process and record financial transactions in accordance with established accounting procedures and policies.
* Assist in the preparation of financial information by gathering and organising relevant data.
* Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including assisting with the preparation of adjusting entries and financial statements.
* Collaborate with internal departments to resolve accounting discrepancies, answer inquiries, and provide necessary financial information.
* Assist in the maintenance and management of fixed asset records, including recording acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation.
* Assist in the preparation of the company forecasts and budgets
* Assist with internal and external audits.
Requirements:
Essential:
* Part or Full AAT qualification, or higher
* Good understanding of basic accounting principles and procedures
* Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel
* Good attention to detail and accuracy
* Good organisational and time management skills
* Able to perform basic analytical review to identify trends and flag issues
* Experience in solving problems
* Willingness to adapt to new technologies and learn new accounting systems
* Confident in collaborating with other areas of the business, to discuss financial matters relevant to the role.
Desirable:
* Studying CIMA or similar professional qualification / Accounting degree graduate
* Experience in a heavy manufacturing company would be an advantage
* Working within a subsidiary company of a larger Group

Working Hours:
Monday to Friday 36.25 hour week - Flexitime
