We are working with a Hereford based client on an exciting opportunity to join a growing business for an Internal Business Development role, full-time permanent basis. The role will be focused on identifying new business opportunities, developing customer relationships and supporting revenue growth. Working closely with the Sales & Marketing Director, you will play an important role in expanding the customer base, developing existing accounts and supporting the wider sales team

What You Can Expect

* Salary competitive and dependent on experience

* Working hours: 8am - 5pm, Monday- Friday – office based (30minutes for lunch)

What You Will Be Doing

* Managing new and existing customer accounts and identifying opportunities for growth

* Proactively researching and identifying potential new customers by sector

* Generating and following up new business opportunities through calls, emails, LinkedIn and meetings

* Following up on active opportunities and supporting negotiations

* Maintaining accurate and up-to-date customer information and sales activity within the CRM system

* Carrying out ongoing client data cleansing

* Reviewing the sales pipeline and prioritising opportunities

* Preparing quotations, proposals and tender submissions for new opportunities

* Building strong customer relationships and supporting client engagement and retention

* Monitoring competitor activity and market trends and reporting findings

* Ensuring positive customer experiences throughout the sales process

* Working towards agreed sales targets and KPIs

* Supporting the Internal Sales team as required

What We Are Looking For

* Previous experience in business development, account management or a similar customer-focused commercial role

* Experience using CRM and/or ERP systems is essential

* A proactive approach to lead generation and new business development

* Strong customer relationship-building and client engagement skills

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Strong listening, influencing, persuasion and negotiation skills

* Ability to research markets, assess opportunities and identify potential customers

* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise a sales pipeline

* Data analysis and reporting skills

* Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively

* Results-driven approach with a focus on achieving targets and KPIs•

* High level of professionalism and integrity
