The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

TARA Recruitment is supporting a specialist education provider in Shrewsbury to recruit both a dedicated English Teacher & Maths Teacher / HLTA to join their growing team on a part-time basis.
This rewarding opportunity would suit passionate English and Maths Teachers who enjoy working with young people with SEND and SEMH needs and is committed to helping students overcome barriers to learning. The successful Teachers will deliver engaging English and Functional Skills English sessions, Maths and Functional Maths lessons supporting learners across KS3, KS4 and KS5.
Working within a nurturing and inclusive environment, the Teachers will build positive relationships with students, adapt learning to meet individual needs and help learners develop confidence, communication skills and independence.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging and differentiated English and Functional Skills English lessons.

Deliver engaging and differentiated Maths and Functional Skills Maths lessons.

Adapt teaching approaches to meet a range of SEND and SEMH needs.

Support students to develop literacy, communication and independent learning skills.

Support students to develop Numeracy and independent learning skills.

Monitor and record student progress, attendance and engagement.

Build positive relationships that encourage participation and achievement.

Support students in achieving accredited qualifications and positive outcomes.
Key Requirements

Experience teaching English or Functional Skills English.

Experience teaching Maths or Functional Skills Maths.
*
Experience supporting young people with SEND and/or SEMH needs.

Relevant teaching, tutoring or educational qualification.
*
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
*
Ability to adapt learning creatively to engage students.
*
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Desirable
*
QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
*
Experience within alternative provision.
*
Knowledge of trauma-informed practice.
*
Experience supporting Functional Skills qualifications.
*
Experience working with KS4 and KS5 learners.
