Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Supply Chain Manager to take ownership of their end-to-end supply chain function. This is a key leadership position responsible for driving operational excellence across planning, procurement, inventory management and logistics, while ensuring the business can consistently meet customer demand.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in shaping supply chain strategy, improving operational performance, and leading a high-performing team. Description
The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for;
Lead and develop the end-to-end supply chain function, including planning, purchasing, inventory management, warehousing, and logistics.
Develop and implement supply chain strategies that support operational and commercial objectives.
Lead the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, ensuring alignment across demand, supply, inventory, capacity, and financial planning.
Drive improvements in supply chain performance, service levels, inventory management, and operational efficiency.
Monitor and achieve key performance indicators, developing and implementing recovery plans where required.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and key stakeholders to ensure continuity of supply and high levels of service.
Lead supplier performance management, focusing on cost, quality, lead times, availability, and reliability.
Ensure inventory levels are optimised to support business requirements whilst minimising risk and excess stock.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across materials management, stock control, logistics, and supply chain processes.
Lead and support business transformation projects, including ERP implementation and supply chain systems improvements.
Ensure supply chain activities remain compliant with relevant legislation, policies, and governance requirements.
Support new product introduction activities by ensuring supply chain readiness and material availability.
Champion sustainability initiatives and identify opportunities to improve environmental performance across the supply chain.
Promote a positive culture of health, safety, wellbeing, and continuous improvement.
Lead, coach, and develop the supply chain team to maximise performance, engagement, and professional growth.
Profile
A successful Supply Chain Manager should have:
Proven experience in a senior supply chain leadership role within a manufacturing, engineering, industrial, or similar environment.
Strong expertise across supply chain planning, procurement, inventory management, and logistics.
Demonstrable experience of managing supplier relationships and improving supplier performance.
Excellent commercial awareness with strong negotiation and influencing skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to interpret data and develop practical solutions.
Experience leading and developing teams to achieve operational and strategic objectives.
A proactive, resilient, and results-driven approach, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience of ERP systems and supply chain transformation projects.
CIPS Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience is desirable.
Job Offer
Salary of £70,000 to £84,000, dependent on the level of experience.
27 days holiday, plus bank holidays.
