Deputy Manager looking to step into your first management role?
We are recruiting for a Registered Manager to lead a children’s residential home supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This is an opportunity to join a provider committed to delivering safe, therapeutic and child-centred care environments where young people can thrive.
The Role
As Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership and day-to-day management of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding and compliance are consistently maintained.
You will lead and develop a stable staff team while creating a nurturing and structured environment that promotes positive outcomes for children and young people.
Responsibilities
* Overall management of the residential home
* Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and Children’s Homes Regulations
* Lead safeguarding practices and promote child welfare
* Manage and develop staff performance, supervision and training
* Maintain high standards of care planning, risk management and documentation
* Build positive relationships with young people, families and external professionals
* Manage rotas, staffing levels and operational performance
* Drive positive outcomes for children and maintain a therapeutic culture within the home
* Prepare for and manage Ofsted inspections
Essential Requirements
* Minimum Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards)
* Previous experience within children’s residential care
* Experience supporting children with EBD, trauma or challenging behaviours
* Strong safeguarding and leadership knowledge
* Good understanding of Ofsted regulations and compliance
* Full UK driving licence
Desirable
* Previous Registered Manager or Deputy Manager experience
* Experience within therapeutic or trauma-informed environments
* Strong knowledge of behaviour management and attachment-informed practice
