The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

A well-established accountancy practice in Lydney is looking to appoint an experienced Bookkeeper to join their friendly and professional team. This is a varied role offering autonomy, flexibility and the opportunity to work across a range of client accounts.
You’ll be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting clients with their day-to-day bookkeeping requirements and ensuring work is completed accurately and on time.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for a portfolio of clients
Complete bank reconciliations and maintain purchase and sales ledgers
Process invoices, payments and journals
Prepare and submit VAT returns
Use accounting software, including Sage 50, to manage client records
Assist with month-end and year-end accounting processes
Liaise with clients regarding bookkeeping queries and information
Ensure deadlines and compliance requirements are consistently met
The Ideal Candidate
Recent experience working within a UK accountancy practice
Previous experience in a bookkeeping role
Good working knowledge of Sage 50 or similar accounting software
Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
Comfortable managing your own workload and working to deadlines
Professional and confident when communicating with clients
Reliable, practical and able to work effectively as part of a team
