How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Job description

Financial Reporting Manager

£74,620 per annum

Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire - Hybrid

Full Time, Permanent

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the housing community?

Are you a qualified finance professional with a passion for delivering high-quality financial reporting, strategic insight and strong financial governance?

We’re on the hunt for a dedicated and enthusiastic Financial Reporting Manager to join our amazing Finance and Resources team at Fairhive, to lead our financial reporting function and play a key role in supporting the organisation's financial performance, regulatory compliance and long-term sustainability.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a purpose-driven organisation where your expertise will directly contribute to providing homes and services that make a positive difference to our communities.

About the role…

As Financial Reporting Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Financial Reporting function across the Fairhive Group. You'll lead the production of annual statutory accounts, oversee regulatory reporting requirements, and ensure the timely submission of financial information to regulators, lenders and other statutory bodies. You'll also take the lead on the external audit process, ensuring robust financial controls and compliance are maintained across the organisation.

Working closely with budget holders and colleagues across the business, you'll oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts, develop corporate budgets, produce financial forecasts and provide insightful reporting to support decision-making at all levels. You'll prepare quarterly financial reports for the Board, including budget performance, year-end forecasts, cashflow information and financial covenant monitoring.

This role also provides the opportunity to influence service improvement and organisational efficiency through finance system development, process enhancement and the delivery of projects that support Fairhive's continuous improvement agenda. As a leader within Finance, you'll inspire and support colleagues, build effective relationships across the business and provide expert financial guidance that helps achieve our strategic objectives.

About you

We're looking for a qualified accountant with significant experience in financial reporting, statutory accounts preparation, budgeting and financial management. You'll combine excellent technical knowledge with strong leadership skills and the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively to a wide range of audiences.

You will have substantial experience working within complex financial environments and a strong understanding of financial governance, regulatory compliance and business partnering. Your ability to analyse data, identify trends and provide meaningful recommendations will enable you to support both operational and strategic decision-making across the organisation.

You'll be highly organised, capable of managing competing priorities and comfortable building collaborative relationships with stakeholders at all levels, including auditors, regulators, suppliers and colleagues throughout the business. A commitment to delivering excellent service, promoting equality and diversity, and supporting positive change is essential.

About Us

At Fairhive Homes, we’re driven by a simple yet powerful vision: “Homes for Living, Communities for Life.”

This isn’t just what we do; it’s what we strive for every day. As a non-profit housing association, we’re dedicated to providing affordable housing for over 20,000 individuals in our community. Our residents are at the heart of everything we do.

Whether we’re maintaining our high-quality homes or building new ones, our mission is to foster thriving communities where everyone feels welcome and can proudly say, “This is my home.” We believe that a strong community starts with quality housing, and we’re here to make that vision a reality.

Benefits

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your career in an empowering environment where your contributions are valued and recognized.

At Fairhive, we invest in your wellbeing. You can join our Health Cash Plan, which enables you to claim money back for a wide range of services and treatments. We believe that flexibility fosters a more productive and enjoyable working environment. Therefore, depending on the role’s requirements, we offer flexible working conditions to help you balance work and life.

You’ll also be part of a mission-driven organisation that makes a tangible difference in the community, allowing you to feel fulfilled in your work every day.

Our Commitment to You

We’re focused on creating a workplace that celebrates inclusivity and diversity. We want everyone to feel comfortable bringing their true selves to work, contributing their unique perspectives and talents. We recognize that our differences make us stronger and are committed to ensuring our teams reflect the diverse communities we serve.

Your unique experiences and insights are exactly what we’re looking for.

We are incredibly proud of our initiatives to become an employer of choice, whether it's:

* Attending one of our Menopause Cafés

* Becoming a Neurodiversity Champion

* Joining our Inclusion Lunches and Learn Sessions

Additionally, our supportive team culture and active social committee ensure that you’ll always have a strong network of colleagues around you!

Ready to Apply?

We understand that not every candidate will tick every box on our list. If your experience differs slightly from what we’re looking for, but you believe you can bring something valuable to the role, we still want to hear from you!

If you're ready to take the next step in your career and work in an environment that values your contributions, please apply today—we can’t wait to meet you!

The closing date for applications will be 07-Sep-2026 but we may close it early if we find the right person before this date
