Locum Council Clerk
Rate: Up to £400 per day

CHRGS is expanding its national network of experienced Locum Clerks to support councils during periods of transition, growth, or short‑term capacity gaps. If you’re an accomplished Clerk who enjoys variety, autonomy, and purposeful work, we’d love to hear from you.

What you’ll bring
* Strong experience as a Parish, Town or Community Clerk, with the confidence to step into a role quickly and independently
* Ideally CiLCA qualified
* Confidence managing statutory duties, governance, agendas, minutes, finance liaison, and member support
* Ability to adapt quickly to new councils and build rapport
* Clear communication, sound judgement, and strong organisational skills
We also welcome candidates with significant local government management experience who can demonstrate transferable governance and leadership capability.
