The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

The Opportunity - Maintenance Engineer
I am recruiting for a couple of Maintenance Engineers to join the site maintenance team at our Trafford Park manufacturing facility. This is a hands-on role supporting a busy heavy industrial environment, where your ability to diagnose faults quickly, restore production, and drive reliability will be key. While the role is primarily electrical, you'll be also be expected to confidently support mechanical-based maintenance activities alongside the wider engineering team.
Key Responsibilities - Maintenance Engineer
* Providing responsive breakdown support to keep production running safely and efficiently
* Carrying out electrical fault finding, repair, and diagnostic work on production machinery
* Completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules and documenting work completed
* Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment reliability and uptime
* Working safely in line with site Health & Safety standards, risk assessments and permits to work
* Assisting with mechanical maintenance tasks when required (e.g., bearings, belts, guards, alignment)
* Liaising with production teams and external contractors to coordinate repairs and maintenance activity
* Ensuring accurate completion of maintenance records and reporting recurring issues to improve reliability
The ideal candidate - Maintenance Engineer
* Proven experience as an Industrial Maintenance Engineer within manufacturing, production, or heavy industry
* Strong fault-finding capability on electrical systems including motors, control panels, relays, sensors, drives/inverters
* Comfortable supporting basic maintenance tasks as part of a multi-skilled team
* Ability to work safely under pressure during breakdown situations and prioritise effectively
* Good communication skills and a professional, team-focused approach
