About the Role
We are looking for an experienced HR Officer / HR Administrator / HR Assistant to join our team in Avonmouth.
This is a varied, hands-on role where you will manage day-to-day HR administration, support recruitment and onboarding, advise employees and managers, and help drive employee engagement across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the first point of contact for employee HR queries
Prepare contracts, offer letters and HR documentation
Manage recruitment, interviews, agencies and candidate feedback
Coordinate employee onboarding and inductions
Manage the employee journey from recruitment through to exit
Support disciplinary, grievance and absence processes
Manage personnel files and ensure GDPR compliance
Coordinate training and apprentice programmes
Manage holidays and absence records
Support managers with HR advice and guidance
Organise employee engagement events and forums
Update HR policies and communicate changes
Requirements
Essential:
Previous HR Administrator, HR Assistant or HR Officer experience
Good knowledge of UK employment law and GDPR
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organisation and attention to detail
Confident handling confidential information
Good Microsoft Office skills
Experience supporting employee relations or engagement
Desirable:
CIPD Level 3 qualified or working towards it
Experience within a multi-site or commercial environment
